If you’re looking for scratch made gluten-free goodies everyone will enjoy this holiday and throughout 2018, take a moment to check out the newly launched local line of meal-friendly savory and sweet baked items from Oven Lovie’s!
Owner, Hadassah Patterson, lives a gluten-free lifestyle for medical reasons and saw a dramatic improvement to her health after she adopted and began strictly adhering to a gluten-free diet. Now she’s ready to share her favorite meals for all to enjoy.Patterson is a Triangle native with Culinary and Hotel and Restaurant Management degrees. She volunteered during the startup phase with what is now Durham Co-op, and provided weekly coverage of the Durham Farmer’s Market. She’s a professional culinarian with experience in every major type of food service from fine dining to short order and does case work as a brand chef ambassador, recipe developer, and product spokesperson for food companies. She is currently the chef-owner of Triangle Gluten-Free LLC, a gluten-free baking business of which Oven Lovie’s is a natural extension.
Check out the mouth-watering gluten-free items ready to order and available for pick up and delivery on Saturday/s. There are gluten-free par-baked mini tart shells, pies, cakes, and cinnamon twists perfect for frosty weather treats (they go great with a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate!). There’s also gluten-free dressing with vegan, gluten-free bread and scratchmade cornbread, plus pecan hardwood smoked apples. Yum!Patterson is very aware of making sure her products appeal to everyone…gluten-free or not. “There is no way to make gluten-free food and not touch someone who eats traditionally, and vice versa. Now, more than ever, we must recognize the value of equality and cooperation both at the table and beyond,” she says. “Blended families have the challenge of stretching their food dollars to accommodate so many eating styles, and that’s tough. We’re allergen friendly, but gluten-free no matter what. And all of our products are tested on both GF and non-GF consumers, staying true to our motto ‘flavor of all.'”
You can help Patterson take her baking business to the next level by contributing to Oven Lovie’s GoFundMe Campaign. These modest funds will help them meet additional regulatory requirements for the new line; get outfitted for added equipment (such as sealing, bagging, and expanding the exclusively gluten-free production ability); hire contractor help as needed for production needs, and finalize crucial delivery transportation and process flow. With more assistance, Patterson will be able to explore wholesale availability at retail outlets and get more of these easy, meal-friendly gluten-free baked dishes to you–ready to pop in the oven and heat up for dinner.
People can currently order individual items or subscribe to monthly or annual Oven Lovie’s baskets.
