Jamil Kadoura, the owner
of Mediterranean Deli on Chapel Hill’s W. Franklin Street, was an engaging speaker at today’s Friends of the Downtown monthly meeting. He’s a passionate
advocate and contributor to the growth and success of downtown Chapel Hill, and he has more exciting plans for expansion this winter.

In the storefront next to Mediterranean
Deli (the old Time After Time Vintage thrift store) Kadoura plans to open a
Mediterranean/Middle Eastern Market. It will offer items such as
different cheeses, grains, and spices—things you’d find in Turkish, Greek and Egyptian markets—not your average American grocery stores.

West Franklin Street is a great
spot for a small ethnic grocery store, and the fact that it’s right next door
to the Mediterranean Deli offers customers a truly international eat and shop experience.

I
look forward to sharing more news about the market when it opens,
which Kadoura hopes will be around November/December 2014. Stay tuned for more!
