Durham Spirits Co. is excited to host Chef Elizabeth Heiskell at The Kitchen Specialist for a cooking demonstration and book signing. Chef Heiskell will prepare recipes from her new cookbook, “What Can I Bring?”, tell stories of her Southern upbringing and show us how easy it is to cook something for every occasion. Chef Heiskell is not only a cookbook author, but also a feature writer for Southern Living magazine and a regular on the Today Show. The Regulator Bookstore will also be there selling copies of her book to be signed. This event is $20 and requires preregistration. Chef Heiskell will be preparing heavy appetizers that will be served.
The businesses of lower 9th Street (The Pie Hole, ZenFish, Jamba Juice and Bliss Nail Bar) are teaming up for a weekend block party Fri Oct 27- Sat Oct 28. There will be raffles and prizes from each place, including a grand prize package from all four! There will be dances, music, face paint, costume contests, pie eating contests and other fun specials throughout the weekend. Stop by The Pie Hole’s patio, located on the corner lot of 810 NINTH, throughout the weekend to take part in the fun.
